Kiri Te Wake

Christchurch artist Kiri Te Wake works in textiles, print & paint.  Her work is influenced by Pakeha/European and Maori culture from a personal and social perspective.  Te Wake has a Bachelor of Design from Christchurch Poytechnic Institute of Technology where she received many awards including the overall 'Head of School' award from the Visual Arts & Design School and has spent time as a print studio technician there.  Te Wake was an invited artist in 'Another New Zealand / Another United States' a collaborative project for print artists expressing cultural viewpoints in their art practice.  The works available from the Arthouse are from this series.
