Her painting is a foundation for expressing the internal emotional, mental and spiritual processes of life. By visually portraying both the physical body and the psyche, her paintings elucidate aspects of the self.Robertson began exhibiting her painting in 2003 at the age of 20. She has been very involved in the Dunedin arts scene where she works as a full time artist. Completely self taught Jo has a drive and determination which is evident in the energy and strength her work portrays. The raw quality and talent that Robertson has is building with each painting and she is an exciting artist to follow. Often working on a large scale the smaller paintings are an exciting opportunity to add to a collection with all the intensity Robertson's oeuvre has to offer.
