Kate Fitzharris - Picking up threads

'Picking up threads' is picking up different threads of my life, different aspects of my life as a mother and artist. It’s also like tidying up, getting things in to some sort of order, to help me understand my place in the world. And also seeing the treasures in things that are often overlooked or discarded, things that fall to the floor in the course of everyday life, things that are often very small, or long and winding that lead us on to other things. It’s about being grateful for this life, the good bits that are easy to like and the gritty bits too.  - Kate Fitzharris, 2010.
