Tim Main is a Chistchurch sculptor with a Bachelor of Arts in Sculpture and Printmaking obtained from the Christchurch Polytechnic. Main works in wood and ceramic which is highly finished with gesso and oil paint. His subject matter has predominately focused on native flora with a traditional asthetic style, often in rosette compositions. He beautifully balances the order and structure within the natural environment with an individual expression of style. Main also works in textile printing and collaborates with Dilana on rug designs. Works feature in private and public collections throughout New Zealand including the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna O Waiwhetu and the Canterbury Museum.
