Artist Overview

Don Binney

Don Binney is one of New Zealand's most respected artists.  A keen ornithologist from a young age, Binney's hard-edged realist paintings and drawings typically feature native New Zealand birds depicted against their natural habitat.  Auckland landscapes predominate in his work, but recent work reflects his travels in the South Island featuring the regions of Franz Joseph, Southern Lakes and Stewart Island.
