Artist Overview

Bruce Hunt

While Bruce Hunt's realist landscape paintings bear a startling resemblance to the locations depicted, his paintings capture more than the physicality of the land.  Hunt spends time with his landscape subjects, particularly the remote Central Otago region, paying close attention to atmospheric conditions, light and time of day.  He paints his emotional response to the landscape offering an interpretation not a strict visual record.
