Artist Overview

Don Driver

Best known for his assemblage sculpture from found and discarded objects, Don Driver’s art has challenged and stimulated New Zealand audiences for much of the latter half of last century. Born in Hastings in 1930, Driver moved to New Plymouth with his family as a child and has remained there since, becoming a popular and often controversial member of the Taranaki arts community.
